Common Questions

A few things patients often ask before making an appointment.

Do I need a GP referral?

You can self-refer as a private patient — a GP referral is not always required. A referral letter is helpful because it provides Mr Hussain with your relevant medical history and any imaging already taken, but if you do not have one, please mention this when contacting Wendy and she will advise accordingly.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Mr Hussain is currently accepting new patients. Appointments are typically available within a few weeks. Wendy will advise on the earliest available slot when you contact her.

Will my insurer cover the consultation fee?

Most private health insurers cover consultation fees once you have pre-authorisation. Please contact your insurer before booking to obtain a reference number. If you are unsure which insurers are accepted, Wendy can confirm this for you.

What happens after my consultation?

Following your consultation, Mr Hussain will write to your GP with a summary of findings and his recommendations. If surgery is discussed, Wendy will guide you through the next steps at your own pace. There is never any pressure to proceed — the decision is entirely yours.
